What Nuqtafy does

Nuqtafy (the website and the Nuqtafy Recorder Chrome extension) lets you record lectures or meetings and automatically generates study notes, meeting minutes, and quizzes from those recordings.

Data we collect

• Account data: your username, email address, and password (stored hashed; we never see the plain text).
• Recordings: the screen video and microphone audio you capture, audio files you upload, or files you choose to import from Google Drive. Recording only happens when you press record and stops when you press stop.
• Generated content: transcripts, notes, minutes, and quizzes produced from your recordings.
• Sign-in token: the extension stores an access token on your device so it can upload recordings to your account.

We do not collect your browsing history, page content, location, or anything from tabs you are not recording.

How your data is used

• Recordings are stored in your account so you can replay them and are processed to produce your notes.
• Audio is transcribed, and transcripts are processed, by AI service providers (such as OpenAI) acting as our processors. They receive only the recording content needed for transcription and note generation, not your account details.
• Your data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used for any purpose other than providing Nuqtafy to you.

Google Drive

If you choose to import a recording from Google Drive, Nuqtafy requests read-only access to your Drive (drive.readonly). We use this access solely to:

• list your audio and video files so you can pick which recording to import, and
• download the single file you select, so it can be transcribed and turned into notes.

We only ever read files you explicitly select. We never modify, create, delete, or otherwise change anything in your Google Drive, and we do not access any other files. You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from Settings, which revokes our access.

Nuqtafy’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with third parties except the processors strictly needed to transcribe your selected file and generate your notes.

Storage and security

Recordings and generated content are stored on our servers (hosted in the EU). All traffic uses HTTPS. Your recordings are private to your account: only you (and site administrators, for support) can access them, and video playback requires your signed-in session.

Retention and deletion

Your recordings and notes are kept while your account is active. Deleting your account removes your recordings, transcripts, and generated notes. You can also request deletion of specific data by contacting us.

The Chrome extension

The Nuqtafy Recorder extension captures your screen and microphone only when you start a recording, uploads that recording only to your Nuqtafy account, and injects its on-page recording controls only into the tab you chose to record. It does not read page content, does not track browsing, and communicates exclusively with app.nuqtafy.com.
